Byond Natural launches new wellness program "Beneath It All"

Byond Natural is elated to announce our new wellness program "Beneath It All".

Beneath It All is a comprehensive three month wellness program designed for women that not only desire to wear their hair in its natural state, but to live in a state of overall wellness.  You can purchase every haircare and beauty product available, but if beneath it all lies poor eating habits; a body in a state of stress; a heart full of unforgiveness, fear and anger; an ugly attitude or an unpleasant way of thinking, then you're not living in wellness.  You are God's creation, fearfully and wonderfully made in His image, let that be reflected in every area of your life.  Beneath It All is your jumpstart to overall wellness!

Beneath It All offers clients: ($600 for 3 month program, serviced bi-weekly)
2 Hour Appointments in our Private Studio infused with jazz and inspirational music
3 Month Scalp & Hair Detox and Therapy
Once Monthly Scalp Exfoliation & Conditioning (not the conditioning that hair receives)
Natural State Styling (no blowouts or iron outs)
Trichology Consult with Nutritional & Supplement Recommendations
Monthly Micro-Moisture Steam Therapy
3 Month Holistic Body Detox & Cleansing Plan w/monthly check-In
"Moving Forward" Exercise Program designed specifically for busy women
"Moving Forward" Check-In (allowing Byond Natural to be an accountability partner in your journey to complete wellness)
Once Monthly 30 Minute Seated Massage with an awesome Massage Therapist (in house)

(Beneath It All's Moving Forward stands on Phillipians 3:13-14)

Beneath It All is a referral based program. You must receive a referral from a current client. Be on the lookout for tweets and facebook friends......you never know who is a Byond Natural client!

I've been an advocate for women's health for over 20 years, a natural hair culturist for over 17 years, and I've worn my hair in its natural state for 23 years and counting.  I'm a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, ministry founder & leader, marriage consultant, prayer warrior and most importantly follower of Jesus Christ.  I talk to women daily about the issues of life and the tools we need to live life well and in excellence.  I realized in January after experiencing a terrifying anxiety attack, that I although I have full access to the tools to live in complete wellness, I wasn't utilizing them.  After realizing I wasn't dying, I got mad!  Mad that I had allowed stress to have its way in my head, mad that I hadn't done anything to manage it, and mad that I knew full well I have the tools to live in wellness, yet I wasn't fully using those tools.  I learned to tap into the power I have full access to daily, to do what I can in the flesh, and to fully trust the Lord to do what He does in complete faith.  We've made "by His stripes I'm healed" a cliche', but its the truth.  If we follow the Lord's guidance and direction, we can walk in health and wellness in every area of our lives; mind, body & spirit!  Beneath It All is a comprehensive approach to living well - address what needs to be addressed in honesty - make the necessary adjustments - learn a new normal - live a life of wellness!

Transitioning from relaxed to natural.......what you need to know

Transitioning from relaxed to natural hair doesn't have to be a production.  As long as you have realistic expectations, the process will be stress-free.  Managing your hair care can be terribly confusing, particularly when you're getting mixed messages from stylist, blogs and hair care companies.   Below are several things to consider when transitioning:

Get to know your hair.....

*  Is your hair thick or thin, course or fine, cotton-like or wiry, wavy or curly, coily or z-patterned?

*  Examine your scalp periodically, is it dry, itchy, flaky, moist, sore to the touch, scaly?

*  Take inventory of your lifestyle, do you exercise regularly, do you sweat at night, do you enjoy spending time preping your hair or do you want to work with your hair as little as possible?

*  What condition is your hair in?  Is it currently healthy, is it damaged, is it color-treated, do you take medication that impacts your hair?

*  If you are married, what does your husband prefer when it comes to how you wear your hair?  Does he like long or short hair, does he like a particular style that should be considered as you transition?

*  Are you open to new hair styling ideas or are you conservative?

*  Are you primarily concerned with the health of your hair, or with the styling of your hair?

The more you know about your hair and scalp, the better your hair care experience will be.  Be honest with your hair care provider.  If you take medication, have a health condition or are going through a medical treatment you should be comfortable letting hair care provider discreetly know.  If you're under stress or going through a major life change, its helpful to let your hair care provider know (don't feel obligated to go into details, just knowing helps with the scalp evaluation).  If you have dietary restrictions, are a vegetarian or vegan or are on a diet, this is important information, please share.

It seems like alot just to start the transitioning process, but its invaluable in ensuring that you are given the best care and advice.  Oh, on a special note........expensive products aren't always the best products for your daily hair care.....more to come on that:)
